 DARBHANGA

Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga

Darbhanga, a district of Bihar is my hometown. It is a sub-metropolitan city which is the capital of a municipal corporation and Darbhanga division in the state of Bihar. It is one of the important cities of North Bihar and is a wonderful tourist destination due to its palaces, ponds, temples and wild life. The city is known as the "cultural capital of Bihar" as well as "the heart of Mithilanchal". It is situated in the heart of the Mithilanchal region which has a history of several thousand years. A part of the Indo-Gangetic plains Darbhanga is located about 50 km from the Himalayan country of Nepal.

            Travel By Train

Darbhanga Junction railway station is a part of East Central Railway located on Samastipur rail route. The station is connected to most major cities of India. I have traveled many times by train and my experience has been quite good. Train travel is one of the most exciting travel experiences. It can usually be of two types, short trips and long, overnight trips. Children are very fond of train travel due to the pure joy of getting a window seat. These days, people prefer to travel by airplane as it is a time saving. But going by plane becomes boring and dull. The journey of the train is a relief from monotony.
